A well-placed mirror doubles the light in a room and gives it depth. This selection brings together round mirrors, from 38 to 80 centimeters in diameter, and taller portrait mirrors, to place in an entryway or a bedroom.

Round or portrait

A round mirror softens a wall of right angles and stands on its own above a console. The portrait format, tall and narrow, lengthens a low room and comes in handy wherever you check your full-length reflection. The two shapes mix easily, as long as you keep only one per wall.

Let the furniture set the diameter

Above a console or a sideboard, aim for a mirror that covers two-thirds of the furniture's width. A small diameter works better in a series, two or three together, or in a shower room. Large diameters hold their own on an empty wall and become the room's focal point.

The frame sets the style

A black metal frame leans toward a workshop look and highlights dark woodwork. A gold frame warms up a light wall and matches light fixtures in the same shade. Natural wood, calmer, pairs well with a bedroom or bathroom in raw materials.

Frequently asked questions

How high should a mirror be hung?

Place the center of the mirror at eye level, around 1.60 meters from the floor. Above a piece of furniture, leave about twenty centimeters between the top and the bottom of the frame.

What diameter above a console?

Stay under the width of the furniture, and aim for two-thirds. On a narrow console, a 60-centimeter diameter is enough; on a sideboard, 80 centimeters keeps better proportions.

How do you clean a mirror without leaving streaks?

Spray the product onto the cloth, not onto the glass, so nothing drips toward the frame. Then wipe with a dry microfiber cloth, in small circles.
