Christmas Table

A festive table is put together as a whole, rarely piece by piece. Here you will find the Holly line in red and white porcelain, table runners and a jar, plus the hanging ornaments and tree figurine that carry the decoration around the place settings.

Start from a single family

The Holly line brings together the bowls, the bowls with handles, the mug, the jar and the candle holder in the same design. Two or three pieces from the same family are enough to give the table unity, even if the rest of the service comes out of your cupboard. The bowls with handles serve morning hot chocolate as well as a soup at the start of the meal.

Anchor the centre of the table

A table runner sets the axis of the meal: it runs the full length and gathers candles and branches into a single line. Choose it plain if the tableware is patterned, printed if it is white. The 18 cm Holly jar and the candle holder then sit on the runner, either side of the centre.

Decoration around the place settings

Christmas ornaments do not only live on the tree. Hung from a branch set in a vase, they echo the plates and draw the eye upwards. The Holly tree figurine, 15 cm tall, sits in the centre of the table without blocking the view between guests.

Frequently asked questions

Which bowl size should I choose?

The 6 cm bowl serves sauces, olives and appetisers. The larger bowl with handles takes a soup, an individual dessert or a hot chocolate.

Does red and white go with my tableware?

Yes, as long as you keep a neutral base. A white or ecru tablecloth and plain plates underneath let the pattern stand out without overloading the table.

How do I wash decorated porcelain?

By hand, in lukewarm water, with a soft sponge. Gold and silver finishes do not cope well with powders and abrasive scourers.
