Magnolia stands out for its long, bare branch, which bears few flowers but holds them high. The collection brings together budding stems, open blooms, Grandiflora foliage, and snow-covered or glittered finishes.

A branch made for a bud vase

Magnolia does not need a bouquet to make an impression. A single stem standing upright in a vase creates a graphic line that few flowers can match, and this is the most common way to use this branch. Two stems of different lengths are then enough to create an offset, without trying to fill the vase.

Buds, open blooms, or foliage

The budding stem stays understated and reads as a spring branch, just before blooming. The Grandiflora stem bears much larger flowers and catches the eye as soon as you enter the room. The Grandiflora foliage, 76 cm long, bears no flowers: it provides green structure for an arrangement or stands alone in a vase.

The snow-covered and glittered versions

The snow-covered stem and the glittered stem suit winter decor, where they replace green foliage that would be too understated. They pair well with a bare branch and a hurricane candle holder, which plays the light across the finish. The water-illusion magnolia is simply set down as is: its vase and transparent material are part of the design.

Frequently asked questions

Which vase for a magnolia stem?

A tall vase with a narrow neck and a heavy base. The neck holds the branch upright, and the base offsets the weight of the flowers carried high.

Can a magnolia stem be shortened?

Yes, wire cutters will cut through the stem. Hold it against the vase before cutting, as the branch draws much of its effect from its length.

How do I dust a snow-covered or glittered finish?

A soft feather duster or a wide brush, used dry, is enough for these finishes. Save the damp cloth for smooth petals, which lose nothing from being wiped.
