A living room armchair is not chosen like a dining chair. This selection brings both families together, with swivel armchairs and small dining armchairs in bouclé, velvet and textured fabric.
A living room armchair sits low and deep: you settle in and stay. A dining chair holds you upright, at table height, and leaves your upper body free. In between, the small dining armchair keeps short armrests that slide under the tabletop, replacing the chair without blocking the way.
A swivel chair turns on itself, so there is no need to move the seat to follow a conversation. It belongs in the middle of a room or in front of a window, where the back of the armchair stays visible. On a thick rug, check that the base sits perfectly flat, otherwise turning becomes stiff.
Bouclé adds texture and forgives seat marks, making it the easiest upholstery for everyday life. Velvet is dressier and holds the trace of a hand, so smooth it in the direction of the pile. Textured fabric sits between the two, in neutral tones such as beige, taupe or gray, while terracotta and khaki embrace color.
Some models come as a set of two, and the product title says so. Others are sold individually, which lets you complete a table that already has chairs.
Keep about thirty centimeters between the top of the seat and the underside of the tabletop. Any less and your thighs touch the wood; much more and the table feels too low.
Vacuum with the brush attachment, in one direction only. For a fresh stain, dab with a damp white cloth without rubbing: rubbing opens up the loops.
