Candle and Candle Holder Promotions

Wood and rattan candle holders, rattan, bamboo and metal lanterns: the same idea expressed in several materials and almost always in two heights. The low light of a flame transforms a room faster than a piece of furniture.

Lanterns work in pairs

Our lanterns often come in two similar sizes, like the Replay, Nella and Luva models. Placed side by side, the tall one and the short one form a set that looks carefully considered. On its own, a lantern is best placed on the floor, near a door or at the foot of an armchair.

Rattan, bamboo or metal

Woven rattan and bamboo filter the light and cast shadows on the wall; they prefer indoors or a covered terrace, as humidity eventually dulls them. Metal copes better outdoors and only needs a quick wipe with a cloth. Wooden candle holders, more understated, line up beautifully on a long table.

The flame and the weave

A woven material calls for a protected flame. Place the candle in a glass before slipping it into the lantern, and leave space between the flame and the sides. On a high shelf, where the flame is hard to keep an eye on, the lantern is best left empty and purely decorative.

Frequently asked questions

What candle should I use in a wooden candle holder?

A pillar candle sitting perfectly flat, or a taper candle if the holder is hollowed out for it. Measure the diameter of the base before choosing.

Can a lantern be left outdoors?

Under an awning, yes, and preferably a metal one. Rattan and bamboo do not cope well with repeated rain and warp as they dry.

Why does the same model come in two heights?

Because these lanterns are designed to be grouped. Each size has its own product page, with the weave and finish remaining identical.
