Straight Sofas

A straight sofa sits against a wall and is chosen first by number of seats, from two to five. The collection ranges from compact models to large sofas, with convertible versions, some of which include storage under the seat.

Measure the sofa's width, not the room

Take the length of your wall, subtract the space for a lamp and a side table, then compare what's left to the width of the model. Keep the delivery path in mind too: a narrow door, an angled hallway or a stairwell matter as much as the chosen wall. A sofa that fits the living room to the centimeter still has to get in.

Depth determines how you sit

A deep seat invites you to sink in, legs tucked up, and suits long evenings in front of a screen. A shallower seat supports the back better and frees up space in front of the sofa. Two models of the same length can thus be lived in very differently.

Hosting overnight without a guest room

Several models in the collection unfold for a night, and some add storage under the seat for the duvet. Leave the space the unfolding requires in front of the sofa, otherwise the coffee table will have to move every time. The rest of the year, seat comfort is what matters, since the bed is only for occasional use.

Frequently asked questions

Three-seater or four-seater?

Count the people who sit together on an ordinary evening, not the guests at a big dinner party. A wide three-seater is often enough where a four-seater would block the flow of traffic.

Which fabric for a very bright living room?

Velvet reacts strongly to light and seems to change shade depending on the viewing angle. Bouclé and woven fabric stay more consistent, and woven fabric is the most neutral of the three.

How do you care for the seat?

Vacuum the cushions on low power, and blot a fresh stain with a white cloth without rubbing. Flip the seat cushions from time to time to spread the wear.
